Scouts of the Cascades
We are the Scouts of the Cascades
and we play Western music.
Dressed in authentic Western attire, we play the music of Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, the Sons of the Pioneers, and anyone who has ever sung a song celebrating the life and work of the American cowboy or the history of the old west. We play for groups ranging from historical reenactments to trail rides, rodeos to wineries, county fairs to festivals, and any home or hall that has a yearning to hear the bards of the old West.
We began playing together in 2001 when we discovered our shared interest in Western music. Over the years, we have played at the Grand National Rodeo, Old Sacramento Gold Rush Days, El Dorado County Fair, the California State Fair to name a few, and also for our local school district events. We are teachers and we are dedicated to the work we do – supporting our students by day and sharing the American West with our audiences at special events.
We are Jeff Berrington, aka Marshall Jeff Wade, playing rhythm guitar and singing lead. Wildcat Kirby, also known as Steve, plays lead guitar and provides vocals as well as percussion accompaniments. Miles City Mark, our own Mark Flanagan, plays bass and adds the harmonies that create true listening pleasure.
